Çimentaş Announced Two Senior Appointments, One at Global Level

Çimentaş CEO Cenker Mirzaoğlu has assumed the role of Group Chief Strategic Development Officer at Cementir Group in addition to his current position, while Gürol Özer has been appointed General Manager of Çimentaş.
Çimentaş, the first cement company established in the Aegean Region and a part of Cementir Group—one of the leading global players in the industry operating in 18 countries—has announced two significant senior leadership appointments. Accordingly, Çimentaş CEO Cenker Mirzaoğlu will take on the additional responsibility of Chief Strategic Development Officer for Cementir Group, while Gürol Özer has been appointed to the newly created position of General Manager of Çimentaş.
In this expanded role, Mirzaoğlu will lead Cementir Group’s strategic development initiatives, assuming responsibility for evaluating growth opportunities, defining strategic priorities, and participating to merger and acquisition processes, among other critical areas.

With 30 years of executive and leadership experience in the cement, ready-mix concrete, and construction sectors, Cenker Mirzaoğlu has built extensive expertise across various industry functions. Throughout his career, he has taken on critical responsibilities in sales, marketing, general management, strategic transformation, and corporate restructuring.
Holding a bachelor’s degree in engineering, Mirzaoğlu has served as CEO and Board Member in the cement industry for more than a decade. He combines his deep sector knowledge with a strategic management approach and strong leadership capabilities, contributing significantly to organizational transformation efforts.
Since 2019, Cenker Mirzaoğlu has been serving as the CEO and a Board Member of Çimentaş, leading the company’s strategic transformation. In this role, he drives initiatives focused on sustainable growth, operational excellence, and long-term value creation, shaping the future development of the organization.
Gürol Özer Appointed General Manager of Çimentaş
Gürol Özer, who previously served as Director of Technical Operations within Çimentaş, has been appointed General Manager as part of the company’s organizational restructuring.
In his new role, Özer will oversee the overall management of cement, ready-mixed concrete, aggregate, and waste management operations, as well as sales and supply chain activities.
Regarding this key appointment—which represents an important step in strengthening Çimentaş organizational structure aimed at operational excellence, efficiency, and sustainable growth—CEO Cenker Mirzaoğlu commented:

Gürol Özer, who has over 30 years of managerial and leadership experience in the cement industry, has developed broad expertise across multiple functions by taking on strategic responsibilities in production, technical operations, investment projects, energy efficiency, and digital transformation throughout his career. For the past 15 years, Özer has served in senior management roles within the industry, combining his extensive operational experience with strong strategic leadership capabilities.
Holding master's degrees in engineering and business administration, Gürol Özer has been serving as the Technical Operations Director at Çimentaş since 2019. In this role, he has led the technical and operational management of the company’s production facilities and has made significant contributions to transformation initiatives focused on efficiency, sustainability, and operational excellence.
